Music and Back Roads and Beaches, oh my!

You can find music anywhere in nature: the chirping birds, the blowing winds, and the rhythm of the waves crashing upon the Lake Erie shores… You can even find it along The Back Roads and Beaches bike route! BRaB can lead you to numerous venues that provide you not only with beautiful scenery, but also live music to complement it!

Back Roads and Beaches

If your Thursday nights are free, ride out to Downtown Vermilion for Third Thursday Music! Every third Thursday of the month until September 18th, there is music, flowers, and beautiful sunsets for everyone to enjoy! Riverdog, in Wakeman has live music too! Performers take the stage in Riverdog’s historic country barn when the weather is warm, so put your bike down and dance for a while.

Friday nights present all of you Back Roads and Beaches riders with plenty of tuneful options. Pedal on over to Tappan Square in Oberlin for an installment of their Summer Concert series, or ride on down to Wellington and enjoy some live music at Howk Memorial Park! Black River Landing in Lorain presents the Rockin’ On The River series too! If you’d like to take a quick break from your bike, hop into the Black River and enjoy the music while atop a paddle board.

Saturday evenings will lead you bicyclers back out to Wakeman. With two shows a week, Riverdog definitely has music for every taste.

Sunday nights will bring all of you BRaB riders to Lorain. Lakeview Park hosts Music Under the Stars on the second Sunday of each month through September!

For those of you cyclists that enjoy a glass of wine after a long day of pedaling, the wineries that punctuate the BRaB route have something to offer! Paper Moon Vineyards in Wakeman has live music every Friday and Saturday evening starting at 6:00! Vermilion Valley Vineyards offers music both nights as well, beginning at 7:00. Finally, Matus Winery also has live entertainment each night at 8. Pick your favorite or pedal between all three!

As summer draws to a close, be sure to check out the Rhythm of Life Music Festival during the third weekend of September! Rhythm of Life takes place near the south end of the BRaB route at the Clare-Mar Lakes Campground and is the perfect weekend getaway for the family.

For more details on live music and more, check out our event calendar. Enjoy the ride (and the music too!) this summer on Back Roads and Beaches!
