Goodbye to our interns!

As the cool weather creeps in and fall approaches, it’s time to reflect back on another wonderful, adventure-filled summer in Lorain County! This summer, three interns got the opportunity to spend the warm summer months at the Visit Lorain County office in Amherst. They weren’t just in the office though! Our interns got to take off throughout the county to blog, photograph, record, and experience a variety of the attractions that we want you to see too! The Back Roads and Beaches Multisport Route in Lorain County led them to many adventures. I’ll let Madalynne, Melody and Allie speak for themselves…

“Before working at Visit Lorain County this summer, I was anxious about starting a career after my college graduation in August, and I didn’t know what to expect going into my first internship. Now that my summer at Visit Lorain County is coming to a close, I have to say, I am a better person! I have fallen in love with Lorain County this summer, and all that it has to offer! I have seen the Columbus tall ships sail into Black River Landing, gone back in time at the Oberlin Heritage Center Monroe House, and met the Director of the Ohio Division of Natural Resources. I have been a blogger, photographer, explorer and ghost hunter. I have made professional connections, and personal friendships I will never forget. Adventure is out there! Get out there and see what I see in Lorain County!” ~ Madalynne

“I am so glad that I was able to spend a second summer interning at Visit Lorain County. Not only was I developing skills that will undoubtedly help me after I graduate college, I was getting to explore some of the best parts of Lorain County at the same time. Over the past 2 summers I have paddle boarded, explored the Nina and Pinta replicas, and seen a portion of the amazing art collection that the Allen Memorial Art Museum holds. It has been an amazing experience, and I’m so grateful that Leadership Lorain County was able to make this and other great internships possible!” ~ Melody

“Working at Visit Lorain County this summer has not only opened my eyes to what Lorain County has to offer but also to what a great workplace should feel like. I got a taste of what it was like to work in a real office and a taste of adventure. This summer I got to explore the county and I could not be more grateful. The experiences I have had here are unforgettable and I encourage everyone to get exploring you never know what you may find.” ~ Allie
