Founded in 1977, the North Ridgeville Historical Society celebrates the city’s heritage and invites everyone to step back in time with a visit to the Historical Museum on the first floor of the Old Town Hall, located on Center Ridge Road, west of State Route 83. On the last Sunday of each month, from 2-5pm, the public may tour the museum and view items of history, such as vintage photos, military displays, toys, old North Ridgeville High School yearbooks and more. In addition, there are souvenirs of earlier times on sale, including 1896 maps, notecards and the new book, “Images of America: North Ridgeville.”
A short ride from the museum is the District #9 one-room schoolhouse, built in 1859 and located on Jaycox Road, south of Mills Road. The schoolhouse is also open to visitors the last Sunday of each month, from 2-5pm, from April to October.
