Halloween is sneaking up on us and just waiting for an opportunity to give you a good scare! There are plenty of opportunities for spooky fun in Lorain County, whether you’re interested in hearing some local legends and ghost stories or walking through some of the most terrifying haunted houses around.

If you’re hoping for a ghost sighting, going to the cemetery is a great place to start. The Avon Lake Historical Society and Folger House are teaming up to offer guided cemetery tours in Avon Lake on October 22, 23 and 24. Your guide will tell you all about local history as you “tiptoe through the tombstones”.

For another look into Lorain County’s local legends, tour the Moore House Museum and Carnegie Center on October 17 with the Ohio Researchers of Banded Spirits. The scientific-based research team validates the afterlife using cutting-edge methods and will be ready to introduce you to the ghosts that inhabit the ghosts of the Lorain County historical society.
