1.29.2016 0 FAQ About Paczki This Sunday is Kiedrowski’s Bakery Annual Paczki Ball. With so much hype about the festivities like people talking about all-you-can-eat paczki or lining up at the bakery to get their paczki, we thought we’d take a few moments to answer some frequently asked questions about paczki! Q: How do you pronounce paczki? A: PAWNCH-ki https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/01/Pl-p%C4%85czki.ogg Q: What are paczki? A: Delicious. Paczki are an old-world traditional polish treat. AKA deep fried balls of goodness. At Kiedrowski’s they carry five flavors of their hand-rolled paczki – traditional, apricot, lekvar, rose, and poppyseed. Q: Why are you talking about paczki now? A: Stemming from Polish tradition, paczki are a pre-Lenten treat. What started as a way to use up certain delicious ingredients in the house prior to the celebration of Lent has now become a celebration of its own. Kiedrowski’s Bakery in particular celebrates with their paczki for the 10 days leading up to lent, culminating on Fat Tuesday. Q: Where can I get my paczki? A: If you’re looking for the all-you-can eat variety of paczki, then the Paczki Ball is the place for you! Join Kiedrowski’s this Sunday at 5pm for their Paczki Ball! If you’d like to experience more polish traditions than just the delicious, doughy indulgence of paczki, then you’ll love the polka music and dancing to complete the picture! Or, if you’d like to take home a few dozen to share with the family and neighbors, then stop in the bakery at 2267 Cooper Foster Park Rd. in Amherst, Ohio. We hope this answers some of your burning questions about the mysterious powdered sugar covered orbs called paczki (PAWNCH-ki). Here’s to a paczki-ful weekend! *Photos provided by Kiedrowski’s Simply Delicious Bakery* posted by lorain at 10:10 am labels: Amherst, Bakery, Event, Events, Food, Fun, Holiday, Lent, Lenten Specials, Lorain County, Lorain County Dining
