Fall Arts Along the Back Roads


Not only does fall riding along the Back Roads and Beaches Bike and Multisport Route bring fresh air and beautiful natural scenery, but new manmade art experiences as well! Whether you’re an art enthusiast searching for your new favorite piece, or just cruising by and in the mood for some live music, you’ll find what you’re looking for. #ItsHere .

Crafts & Shopping:

  • shoppingThe Woollybear Festival in Vermilion is Ohio’s largest one-day festival! Not only is there food and live entertainment, but crafts galore!
  • Wellington offers a Country Autumn Tour on the weekends! You’re  your own guide, which means as many stops to the unique village shops as your heart can stand!

Live Entertainment:


  • The Oberlin Inn offers a twist on live entertainment- you’re in the middle of it all with their murder mystery dinner packages! Take your pick from Masquerade  and Fall themed Murder Mysteries, or try them both!
  • The Workshop Players Theatre is always coming out with a new show, and this season, it’s The Woman in Black . Take a quick jaunt to their Amherst theatre for this spine-chilling show!


  • Finney Chapel in Oberlin is hosting the Calder Quartet on September 3oth at 8 pm! They collaborate with artists from all different music genres, ranging from rock clubs to Carnegie Hall. Your ears will thank you!




In The Gallery:

  • Oberlin’s Riverdog Retreat and Gallery holds their Annual Open House every October. Visit  the studio and gallery while sampling complementary wine and craft beers!
  • FAVA is opening up a brand new exhibit in October: Clothing as a favaMetaphor by Clare Murray Adams. Check it out October 12th-November 9th!




Patchwork Trails

  • On a roll, and don’t have time to stop? Not to worry! The Patchwork Trails of Lorain County follows the Back Roads and Beaches Route and is all about art! Patchwork Trails is made up of 19 giant wooden squares that are painted with a unique quilt pattern and mounted on the sides of local barns and businesses. The colorful, patterned squares were painted by 4-H clubs and other organizations, each having a special story and origin. So if you want to keep your feet on the pedals, keep your eyes to the skies and you can’t miss the beautiful artwork along the Back Roads and Beaches Route.
