2019 Here’s the Scoop

Here’s the Scoop is back for another delicious summer!

It’s time for another delicious adventure through Lorain County with your family on a hot day. Or it’s a stop with your baseball or softball team after a big game. It’s a treat to celebrate the end of the school year. It’s even date night for those who savor the sweeter side of life.

And now it’s also a chance to explore Lorain County, finding new flavors, meeting new faces and seeing new places. Here’s the Scoop Ice Cream Trail is your invitation to try more than 10 of the best ice cream shops and stands in Lorain County between May 24 and September 2.

Maybe you head to Krieg’s It’z the Berries for a scoop of their house-made strawberry ice cream, made from their own homegrown strawberries! Make your way south to 1833 at the Hotel at Oberlin for the chef’s special scoop. Sit down at Nancy’s Main Street Diner in Grafton and enjoy a milkshake for some relief from the summer heat. Take the team to Divine Scoops for a freshly made waffle cone with something from their divine menu.

Here’s the Scoop is a fun-filled, family activity that’s sure to make your summer that much more exciting! It’s the best time of the year to indulge in the dairy delights of a tasty scoop on a cone or in a cup; or however you like your frozen treats served, with sprinkles or without.

Commemorate your summer with our special Here’s the Scoop pin and enter your completed passport for a chance to win free ice cream for a year! Collect our pins every year and decorate your lanyard with this special swag.

How do you get started?

You simply start the tour by picking up your passport at Visit Lorain County’s visitors center, Divine Scoops, Hot Dog Heaven, Krieg’s Strawberry Farm & Market, or Sundae Funday’s, during regular business hours to receive your lanyard and passport ($1). Then you hit the trail, receiving a 25¢ discount on any ice cream product and getting your passport stamped. Get the scoop on the details here.

Participants from last year who have their lanyards are not required to make another $1 donation for their passports. They must present their lanyards at a distribution site in order to redeem this year’s passport. They will also receive their coupon card at the same time.

Extra Special:

This year we’re introducing a special coupon card, complete with three offers from varying businesses in Lorain County. When you pick up your ($1) lanyard and passport, you’ll receive a coupon card good from May 24 to the end of the ice cream trail, September 2. Visit other local business while you’re out with family or friends, and discover something new!
