Shoofly quilt barn square is located at Howard Born’s Grain Elevator on Haigh Rd.This quilt is one that is part of the Underground Railroad Quilt Code. The pattern is made of half-square triangles and squares. Hidden in plain view on clotheslines and fences, this quilt identifies a friendly guide who is willing to help escaped slaves. The Amish block is names for a wild plant called the shoo-fly and/or clover broom. It was painted by the Penfield Partners/Cisco Kids 4-H Clubs. Installed by Star Builders.
