Ohio Wine Producers Association

Description

Discover the Lake Erie Shores and Islands Wine Trail here in Lorain County. Brisk sea breezes and the moderating influence of our Ohio’s own Lake Erie allows our vintners to produce grapes and make wine amid some of the country’s most scenic vistas. Throughout this ‘cool climate’ growing district, historic vineyards and wine families who have farmed them for generations are complemented by new plantings of Rieslings chardonnays, and cold climate hybrids established by dynamic entrepreneurs. Numerous soil types, deposited by years of glacial movements provide fertile ground for great viticulture, new and old.

THE VINTAGE OHIO WINE FESTIVAL: Every August

One of the nation’s most acclaimed wine and food events will feature approximately 20 Ohio wineries with their wine selections. The event also includes fine food, cooking programs, wine appreciation and great entertainment. The event will be held at Lake Metroparks Farmpark at 8800 Euclid Chardon Road in Kirtland Ohio.
