2019 Best Burger Battle

Visit Lorain County and the Lorain County Commissioners are hosting the Best Burger Battle October 10-20. Twelve Lorain County restaurants will compete for the title of Best Burger in Lorain County.

From Oct. 10-20, Lorain County transforms into just about the most delicious place on earth as some of our best bars and restaurants fight to win over your taste buds. Sponsored by Visit Lorain County and the Lorain County Commissioners, this marks the 3rd Annual Burger Battle.  

Visit Lorain County will be crowning a winner for the Best Overall Burger. Additionally, a consolation title will be given for Most Creative Burger. Participants will receive an official Ballot and a stamp when ordering the restaurant’s featured Burger Battle Burger.

2018 Mutt & Jeff’s took home the hardware with the French Onion Burger. This cheesy topped burger may still be available at Mutt & Jeff’s (3700 Oberlin Ave., Lorain).

How it Works

Participating locations will feature their best, most creative burger. The featured burger at every restaurant will be $9. (during regular business hours). Chips, fries, rings, beverages, tax and tip are not included. 

They’ll also have ballots available. Your job will be eat, enjoy and vote—and then be entered into a drawing to win dinner for four at the restaurant that ends up winning the Best Burger in Lorain County. 

After ordering the featured burger at a participating restaurant earn a stamp on your ballot. After trying two featured burgers at participating restaurants, you can vote for your favorite. How can you vote if you’ve only just tried one burger! We think you should try them all! 

How to Vote

(Only one vote per person.)

Pick up your official ballot after ordering the Burger Battle Burger at a participating restaurant. For every one featured burger ordered, you get one stamped passport. You must order the burger at more than one participating restaurant to cast a vote.

  • In person at 8025 Leavitt Road, Amherst, 44001 during regular business hours
  • Mail your ballot to: Best Burger Battle, 8025 Leavitt Road, Amherst, OH 44001
  • By snapping a picture and emailing it to: visitors@visitloraincounty.com

Only one vote per person. Diners can submit their ballot after eating at one restaurant. Submit your ballot by October 25, 2019. 

The title for Best Overall burger will be voted on by diners. The title for Most Creative will be voted upon by judges appointed by Visit Lorain County.

Diners who vote and provide all required information will be entered in a drawing for dinner for 4 to the restaurant that wins Best Overall Burger.

The Fine Print

  • The purchase of one burger equals one stamp. Even if you share a burger that only equals one stamp. 
  • Only one entry per person. 
  • Only one random winner will be chosen. Winners will be notified through email by November 8. 
  • Winners may pick up their prize at Visit Lorain County, 8025 Leavitt Road, Amherst 44001. Or, a gift card may be mailed. 
  • Gift cards are good for 6 months from awarded restaurant *unless noted on the gift card. 
  • A gift certificate will be issued for an average entree price point per four people at the restaurant that wins the Best Burger title. (Alcohol, tip and tax are NOT included and cannot be purchased with gift certificate.)
  • Only one winner will be chosen
